Iran's Aluminum Production Declines Slightly but Bauxite and Alumina Production Increases

[Iran's Aluminum Production Reaches 550,000 mt, With Growth in Bauxite and Alumina Production]

As of February 18, 2025, Iran's aluminum production for the current year (starting March 20, 2024) reached 552,000 mt, slightly down from 582,000 mt in the same period last year. However, both bauxite and alumina production saw growth.

The total production was contributed by Iran's four major aluminum companies—South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO), Eralco, Almahdi, and Iran Alumina Company. Among them, SALCO produced 222,000 mt, Eralco 160,000 mt, Almahdi 139,000 mt, and Iran Alumina Company 30,600 mt.

During the same period, Iran Alumina Company produced 212,500 mt of alumina (up 3%) and 725,000 mt of bauxite (up 35%).
