[SMM Policy Express] Sichuan: "Work Plan for the Pilot Construction of Zero-Carbon Industrial Parks in Sichuan Province"

Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology issued a notice on the "Work Plan for the Pilot Construction of Zero-Carbon Industrial Parks in Sichuan Province." The notice pointed out: to explore and promote the application of disruptive technologies such as low-carbon and zero-carbon raw material and fuel substitution, short-process manufacturing, and hydrogen smelting, achieving the reconstruction of traditional industrial processes and deep decarbonization of production techniques.

It also aims to explore the "multi-energy complementarity + self-generated direct supply + wide-area off-grid" model of clean energy such as water, wind, solar, and hydrogen, establish a coupling development mechanism between the new-type energy system and the modern industrial system, and promote the integration of industrial layout, spatial layout, and green electricity layout.

Efforts will be accelerated to develop new-type energy storage, with large-scale applications of advanced energy storage technologies such as lithium batteries, vanadium flow batteries, hydrogen energy, and flywheels.

The promotion of electric and hydrogen fuel heavy-duty trucks, as well as logistics and public transportation vehicles, will be vigorously advanced.
