【50MW/100MWh! Sichuan's First Grid-Forming ESS Power Station Commissioned】On March 12, the first batch of 52.8 MW power generation units of the Huadian Xinneng Hongyuan Anqu Phase I PV project successfully achieved grid connection, marking the official commissioning and power generation of Sichuan Province's first grid-forming ESS PV power station.

The Huadian Xinneng Hongyuan Anqu Phase I PV project is located in Hongyuan County, Aba Prefecture, at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. The project has a total installed capacity of 250 MW, consisting of 76 PV array zones and 450,000 solar panels. The supporting 50MW/100MWh LFP battery energy storage system can charge or discharge 100,000 kWh within 2 hours. Once the project reaches full capacity, its annual power generation will reach 450 million kWh, sufficient to meet the electricity needs of 210,000 households. It will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 400,000 mt annually, equivalent to planting nearly 20 million trees each year.
