March 12: In the northern market, SiMn alloy 65/17 (cash) was priced at 6,050-6,150 yuan/mt, down 25 yuan/mt MoM; in the southern market, SiMn alloy 65/17 (cash) was priced at 6,150-6,250 yuan/mt, also down 25 yuan/mt MoM. According to SMM, on the raw material side, port manganese ore inventory remained at a low level, with miners showing strong sentiment to stand firm on quotes. High-grade manganese oxide ore prices stayed at a relatively high level, but actual transactions have yet to follow. Supply side, many SiMn alloy plants held back from selling, while some plants maintained relatively firm quotes. Demand side, downstream steel mills showed weak demand for SiMn alloy, and market inquiries were relatively quiet. Currently, the spot SiMn alloy market remains stable with no significant fluctuations.
