This will involve the design of non-metallic components using advanced material solutions to enhance lightweighting, thermal safety management, and functionality.
WELION New Energy will be responsible for the development of battery cells and battery systems; BASF will provide expertise and resources for the development of non-metallic component materials in the solution design; and the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center will offer academic support.
Notably, in 2024, BASF, the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center, and WELION New Energy will jointly launch a concept solid-state battery pack, showcasing BASF's diverse solutions in lightweighting, thermal management, safety performance, sustainability, and functionality.
