In February, the average price of low-sulphur petroleum coke reached 5,361 yuan/mt, up 48% MoM. The price increase was driven by multiple factors, including the impact of tax policy adjustments. Additionally, several domestic low-sulphur petroleum coke refineries were shut down for maintenance, while port arrivals of imported coke remained low, leading to tight supply. These factors combined prompted manufacturers to raise their quotations accordingly.

In February, the average price of oil-based green needle coke was 6,076 yuan/mt, up 23% MoM. On the demand side, oil-based green needle coke experienced weakened downstream demand due to the impact of the Chinese New Year and the shorter month. However, the price rose slightly, supported by tax policy adjustments and the significant price increase of petroleum coke.
