The government work report mentioned that the main development goals for this year are: GDP growth of around 5%; an urban surveyed unemployment rate of around 5.5%, with over 12 million new urban jobs created; a consumer price index increase of around 2%; residents' income growth in line with economic growth; maintaining a basic balance in the international balance of payments; grain production of approximately 140 million tons; a reduction of around 3% in energy consumption per unit of GDP; and continued improvement in ecological and environmental quality.
