During the day, the most-traded SHFE lead 2504 contract opened at 17,185 yuan/mt, fluctuated around 17,165 yuan/mt in the morning session, slightly climbed to 17,205 yuan/mt in the afternoon before declining, and finally closed at 17,145 yuan/mt, down by 0.03%, with an open interest of 47,508 lots. Social inventory of lead ingots continued to increase. With the impact of the Chinese New Year holiday fading, both supply and demand for lead are expected to rise in March, particularly with a relatively significant increase in secondary lead. It is anticipated that lead ingot supply will remain ample, and lead prices will fluctuate.
