US rare earth producer MP Materials continued to increase production in Q4 2024, but rising production costs put pressure on profit margins, leading to further losses.
In Q4, MP Materials produced 11,478 mt of rare earth oxide (REO) concentrate at its Mountain Pass mine in California, up from 9,257 mt in the same period last year. For the entire year, REO concentrate production totaled 45,455 mt, representing a 9% increase compared to the previous year.
