According to the Dazhou Development and Reform Commission, Sichuan Province recently held a Q1 2025 on-site promotion event for major projects. At the Dazhou sub-venue, 360 projects were advanced, including the high-purity potash and lithium-potassium brine development and utilization project. The project has a total planned investment of 10.5 billion yuan, jointly funded by Jiangxi Kexiang Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. and Xiamen C&D Group, and will be constructed by Sichuan Gongchuang Lixiang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
The project is divided into three phases, primarily producing battery-grade lithium carbonate, industrial-grade sodium sulfate (used in the manufacturing of glass, detergents, and paper), and sulphuric acid derived from sulphur. The construction of a production line with an annual capacity of 40,000 mt of lithium carbonate is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with the full completion of a production line with an annual capacity of 140,000 mt of lithium carbonate anticipated by 2027. Once fully operational, Xuanhan County in Dazhou, Sichuan Province, will become a significant global base for the production of basic lithium chemicals.
