SMM has learned that recently, CALB announced it had received a lawsuit delivered by the Hunan Provincial Higher People's Court. CATL has filed a patent infringement claim of 111 million yuan against CALB. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd., has filed a patent infringement claim against CALB and other defendants regarding the top cover assembly of secondary batteries and the invention patent No. ZL202011086325.8 for secondary batteries. CATL demands that CALB immediately cease actions infringing on the plaintiff's patent rights involved in the case, including stopping the manufacturing, selling, and offering for sale of products infringing on the patent rights in question. Additionally, CATL requests CALB to compensate for economic losses amounting to 110 million yuan and reimburse CATL for reasonable expenses of 1 million yuan incurred to prevent the infringement.
