SMM, January 24: From January 18 to January 24, 2025, the weekly operating rate of secondary lead in four provinces monitored by SMM was 43.16%, down 1.49 percentage points WoW. In Anhui, a large secondary lead smelter initiated new shutdowns for maintenance, coupled with production cuts at certain smelters during the Chinese New Year, the operating rate is expected to decline by over 11 percentage points next week. In Henan, fewer smelters suspended production during the Chinese New Year, with some secondary lead smelters indicating expectations for production cuts. In Jiangsu, the operating rate remained relatively stable, and a large secondary lead smelter currently in operation stated that there are no holiday plans during the Chinese New Year.
