SMM, January 20: According to SMM, as of January 20, the total inventory of lead ingots in five major regions' social warehouses reached 45,900 mt, down by 1,700 mt compared to January 13 and approximately 800 mt compared to January 16.

This week, being the week before the Chinese New Year, the lead spot market has entered the countdown phase. Most downstream enterprises have completed pre-holiday restocking, with only a few continuing to make purchases at low prices as needed, while suppliers are conducting final clearance sales. In some regions, the inventory of lead ingots in social warehouses continued to decline. It is reported that some lead-acid battery enterprises in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and other regions have already ceased operations and started holidays over the weekend. Long-distance logistics transportation has also entered a suspension phase, while short-distance transportation in a few provinces and cities can continue until January 23-24. The lead ingot market is expected to see further weakening in transactions, with little change anticipated in the inventory of lead ingots in social warehouses.
