As of January 3, 2025, according to a survey by Shanghai Metals Market (SMM), finished product inventories of secondary lead smelting enterprises stood at 10,680 mt, a WoW increase of 7,530 mt. The main reasons for the inventory increase were: (1) The heavy pollution weather alert in the primary secondary lead production area—Anhui—was lifted last Saturday, leading to an increase in production this week. (2) After the decline in lead prices, secondary lead suppliers maintained firm offers, while downstream enterprises showed insufficient purchase willingness, resulting in low trading activity for lead ingots.
