[SMM News Flash] According to the joint consultation forecast by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, starting from December 16, due to widespread stable weather in the north and the southward movement of cold air, areas north of the Huai River and the western regions of JAC are expected to experience moderate to heavy pollution. As a result, 26 cities across six provinces—Anhui, Henan, Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Shanxi—have issued heavy pollution weather warnings, and phenomena such as "suspension of work, production, and transportation" have gradually emerged nationwide. This large-scale suspension of work and production has had a widespread impact, with not only construction sites halting operations but also numerous factories suspending production activities, while logistics and transportation have also been affected. According to an SMM survey, secondary lead smelters in Shandong are currently in a state of production suspension, with enterprises indicating that this suspension is expected to affect production by approximately 2,000 mt.
