According to SMM statistics, the operating rate of leading aluminum plate/sheet and strip enterprises remained stable at 72% this week. Last Friday, the Chinese government announced the cancellation of export tax rebates for aluminum semis starting from December 1. This week, aluminum plate/sheet and strip enterprises with a significant proportion of export business were relatively busy. On one hand, they urgently coordinated finished product inventories, expediting shipments or sending them to bonded areas. On the other hand, they negotiated with overseas customers to allocate the 13% additional cost. Due to the short implementation time, there was no time for temporary production, so it did not significantly affect the production of aluminum plate/sheet and strip enterprises. Environmental protection inspections resumed in Henan during the week, but aluminum plate/sheet and strip enterprises responded calmly and are not expected to be severely disrupted. The aluminum plate/sheet and strip industry remains stable in the short term, and close attention should be paid to the overall market demand changes after the cancellation of export tax rebates.
