Seasonal Consumption Improves, Lead-Acid Battery Producers' Operating Rate Reaches Annual High [SMM Survey]

According to SMM survey, from October 26 to November 1, 2024, the weekly operating rate of lead-acid battery producers in five provinces was 75.43%, an increase of 1.97 percentage points compared to October 25.

According to SMM survey, the lead-acid battery market consumption relatively improved, and producers' operating enthusiasm increased. Notably, the automotive battery sector saw a seasonal rise in domestic vehicle and replacement demand, coupled with a recovery in export orders. The operating rate of production lines at large enterprises generally increased, reaching 80-100%. Although the end-use consumption in the e-bike lead-acid battery market improved limitedly, dealers' customary restocking also brought some increments, leading to an increase in producers' operating enthusiasm, and thus the weekly operating rate rose again.
