Zinc Ingot Inventories Rise Sharply Across SMM's Seven Regions, Led by Shanghai and Guangdong Gains

[SMM Data] SMM News on October 14: According to SMM research, as of Monday (October 14), the total inventory of zinc ingots in SMM's seven regions reached 119,100 tonnes, an increase of 12,200 tonnes from October 8 and 6,000 tonnes from October 10, indicating an increase in domestic inventory. Notably, the inventory in Shanghai increased significantly due to the arrival of domestic zinc ingots such as Qilin and Baiyin over the weekend, coupled with the replenishment of imported zinc ingots, leading to a notable overall increase in inventory. In Guangdong, the inventory also increased as market arrivals continued to rise over the weekend, while downstream enterprises in the region were cautious about taking delivery at high levels, resulting in a slight accumulation of inventory. In contrast, the inventory in Tianjin decreased mainly because although northern smelters have gradually resumed operations, most of them shipped directly from the factories, leading to fewer arrivals at warehouses and a subsequent decrease in inventory. Overall, the inventory in the original three regions increased by 6,300 tonnes, and the inventory in the seven regions increased by 6,000 tonnes.
