Domestic Bonded Copper Inventories Decline Further, but Pace Slows

According to the survey conducted by SMM, domestic bonded area copper inventories declined by 3,200 tonnes from a week earlier (September 19) to 58,500 tonnes on Thursday (September 26). Specifically, bonded copper inventories in Shanghai decreased by 3,500 tonnes from the previous week to 55,500 tonnes, while those in Guangdong increased by 300 tonnes to 3,000 tonnes. This week, bonded inventory depletion continued, but at a slower pace. SMM learned that arrivals at bonded warehouses were low, with most of the copper arriving at ports directly entering the domestic market. Looking ahead, some electrolytic copper arriving during the holiday may enter bonded warehouses, but the expected volume is not significant, and inventories will remain low.
