Zinc Ingot Inventories in Key Regions Decline Sharply Ahead of National Day Holiday: SMM Data

[SMM Data] September 26, SMM News: According to SMM research, as of Thursday (September 26), the total inventory of zinc ingots in seven regions tracked by SMM was 106,700 tonnes, a decrease of 7,800 tonnes from September 19 and 8,900 tonnes from September 23, indicating a reduction in domestic inventory. There was a notable decline in inventory in the Shanghai region, as there was still no improvement in the arrival of zinc ingots during the week, coupled with the downstream preparation for inventory before the National Day holiday, and continuous delivery of goods previously sold, leading to a significant drop in overall inventory. In Guangdong, inventory decreased slightly as zinc ingots arrived normally during the week, and some downstream enterprises made purchases for inventory before the National Day holiday, resulting in a small decline in overall inventory. In Tianjin, inventory also decreased, with fewer zinc ingots arriving at warehouses during the week. As downstream enterprises continued to purchase and prepare inventory before the holiday, overall inventory fell significantly. Overall, inventory in the original three regions decreased by 8,100 tonnes, and inventory in the seven regions decreased by 8,900 tonnes.

캐나다 서스캐처원주에 위치한 매킬베나 베이 구리-아연 프로젝트가 중요한 운영 이정표에 도달했다. 프로젝트 운영사인 엘도라도 골드는 2026년 6월 첫 구리 정광을 생산했고, 2026년 7월 첫 아연 정광을 생산했다고 밝혔다. 현재 증산 단계에 있으며 2026년 3분기 상업 생산 달성이 예정대로 진행 중이다. 2026년 연간 아연 생산량은 3,000~6,000톤(구리 500만~1,000만 파운드와 병행)으로 전망된다. 약 18년으로 추정되는 광산 수명 동안 매킬베나 베이는 연평균 아연 5,400만 파운드(약 24,500톤)와 구리 4,100만 파운드(약 18,600톤)를 생산할 것으로 예상된다. 엘도라도 골드는 현재 일일 처리 용량을 4,900톤에서 7,000톤으로 확장하는 방안과 은-납 회수 공정 추가를 검토 중이다. 매킬베나 베이의 성공적인 증산은 북미 및 글로벌 시장에 새로운 정광 공급을 제공하여 글로벌 비철금속 정광 공급 부족 완화에 기여할 전망이다.
