[SMM Flash] On September 24, a fire broke out at Teck's Trail electrolytic zinc plant. Although the fire did not cause casualties and is not expected to have an impact on the environment, it led to the closure of one-quarter of the Trail smelter (with a total zinc production capacity of 300,000 tons), while other parts continued production. Lead and other special metals and by-products are also continuing to be produced. Teck is investigating the cause of the incident, and SMM will continue to follow up.
