According to customs data, China's EVA imports in August were 115,600 mt, up 13.09% MoM, but down 66.68% YoY. From January to August, cumulative imports were 665,300 mt, down 27.75% YoY. By region in August, imports from South Korea were 41,300 mt (54.01%), from Taiwan 11,000 mt (14.35%), from Thailand 7,200 mt (9.38%), from Singapore 5,300 mt (6.92%), and from Saudi Arabia approximately 2,100 mt (2.81%).
The average import price of EVA in August was 8,929 yuan/mt, down 6.09% MoM, and compared to the 2023 monthly average price of 11,323.85 yuan/mt, it decreased by 21.15% YoY.
Major EVA suppliers from South Korea include Hanwha Total, Lotte Chemical, and LG Chem. The import volume in August increased by 33.6% MoM compared to July.
Major EVA suppliers from Taiwan include Formosa Plastics and Taiyo. The import volume in August increased by 11.27% MoM compared to July.
Major EVA suppliers from Thailand include Dow, TPI, and TPC. The import volume in August increased by 23.95% MoM compared to July.
