[The Fed Cuts Interest Rates by 50 Basis Points for the First Time, Boosting Copper Prices] In macroeconomic news, at 2 am Beijing time, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates significantly by 50 basis points, reducing the federal funds rate from 5.25% to 5.50% to 4.75% to 5.00%, marking the first such move since March 2020. Currently, Fed officials believe that with inflation approaching the 2% target and unemployment rising, they need to reduce interest rates to the range of 4.25% to 4.50% by the end of the year, higher than their expectations in June.
