[SMM Analysis: August Coke Market Review and September Market Outlook]

According to SMM research, the average coke oven capacity utilization rate of coke enterprises in August was 76.65%, a decrease of 2.45 percentage points from the previous month.

In August, due to the continuous decline in coke prices and the relatively firm prices of raw material coking coal, the losses of coke enterprises expanded rapidly. At the same time, the downstream demand for steel and coke declined rapidly. Therefore, the operating rate of coke enterprises continued to decline in August.
