The future development prospects of recycled aluminum are optimistic. Industry experts pointed out that although the production capacity of recycled aluminum nationwide in the first half of 2024 was 23 million tons, the capacity utilization rate was only about 50%, which was mainly attributed to the bottleneck of scrap aluminum supply and the broader statistical base of domestic recycled aluminum production capacity, including some flexible production lines. It is expected that in the next five years, the recycled aluminum production will steadily increase at a compound annual growth rate of 5-6%, and the output is expected to reach 11.5 million tons by 2025. The industry supply will still mainly depend on electrolytic aluminum.
