[SMM Survey: Market Conditions of Silicon Steel in Shanghai] This year, the performance of grain-oriented silicon steel (GOSS) has been generally better than that of non-oriented silicon steel (NOSS). Looking ahead, most traders remain pessimistic about the outlook for NOSS. The reasons are as follows: there are many inverted markets among traders, and the NOSS inventory in the market is high, putting the overall NOSS market under pressure. As for GOSS, most traders are still optimistic about its future prospects, especially for high-grade GOSS. On April 29 this year, the national standard for power transformers, GB20052-2024 "Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades for Power Transformers," was officially released and will be implemented on February 1, 2025. Traders in the market hold diverse views on the implementation and impact of this policy.
