1 Billion Yuan Grid-side Energy Storage Project Set for Wulanchabu, Inner Mongolia with 200MW/800MWh Capacity

[1 Billion! 200MW/800MWh Grid-side Energy Storage Power Station to be Established in Wulanchabu, Inner Mongolia] SMM learned that on August 20, the China Energy Engineering Group (Shanghai) Complete Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. and Liangcheng County, Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region held talks on a 200MW/800MWh grid-side energy storage power station project and signed a framework cooperation agreement. It is reported that the project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and plans to adopt lithium iron phosphate energy storage technology to build a 100MW/400MWh grid-side energy storage power station near the 220kV substation in Liangcheng County and another one in Tiancheng Industrial Park, along with the construction of booster stations.

Upon completion, the project is expected to charge 240 million kWh and discharge 204 million kWh annually, providing reliable energy storage and peak shaving functions for the Western Mongolia Power Grid and offering strong support for Liangcheng County to achieve its "dual carbon" strategy.
