China's Energy Storage Lithium-ion Battery Production Surpasses 110GWh in H1 2024, Boosting Industry Growth

[Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Production of Energy Storage Lithium-ion Batteries Exceeds 110GWh in the First Half of 2024] On August 16, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operational status of the national lithium-ion battery industry for the first half of 2024. In the first six months of 2024, China's lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as "lithium battery") industry continued its growth trend. Based on information from enterprises that comply with the lithium battery industry norms and estimates from industry associations, the total production of lithium batteries nationwide reached 480GWh in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

In the battery segment, the production of energy storage lithium-ion batteries exceeded 110GWh from January to June. The installation of power lithium-ion batteries for new energy vehicles amounted to approximately 203GWh. During the same period, the total export value of lithium batteries nationwide reached 193.4 billion yuan.
