In 2023, the comprehensive energy consumption per mt of steel for CISA member units was 557.15 kgce/t. If from 2024 to 2025, through the implementation of energy-saving and carbon reduction transformation and energy equipment updates in the steel industry, energy savings equivalent to about 20 million mt of standard coal are achieved, then a reduction of about 35.9 million mt of crude steel will be needed, with an annual average reduction of about 17.94 million mt.
