Guangdong Unveils Plan for High-Quality Development of Distributed Photovoltaic Power with Focus on Energy Storage and Microgrids

【Guangdong: Promoting the high-quality development of distributed photovoltaic power through energy storage, PV-storage-charging integration, microgrids, etc.】 SMM learned that on June 5th, the Guangdong Provincial Government issued the "Guangdong Province Action Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of Distributed Photovoltaic Power." The "Plan" proposes to promote the installation of photovoltaic power generation systems in transportation hubs such as highway service areas, high-speed rail stations, ports, terminals, and airports, and to build a comprehensive transportation hub "distributed photovoltaic + energy storage + microgrid" transportation energy system according to local conditions. New ports, terminals, and logistics hubs should achieve "full installation" of photovoltaic power generation; new parks should achieve full coverage, and newly planned and constructed parks should simultaneously plan and support the construction of distributed photovoltaic power. Existing public institutions should install photovoltaic power generation systems on their roofs as much as possible.

In highway service areas, urban commercial complexes, integrated complexes, residential areas, and other qualified places, it is proposed to promote the construction of PV-storage-charging integrated projects relying on photovoltaic power generation, grid-connected microgrids, and charging infrastructure.
