Brief Analysis of Silicone Export Data for April 2024 [SMM Analysis]

In April 2024, China's export volume of primary form polysiloxane was 45,700 mt, down 9.07% MoM, up 47.99% YoY. From January to April 2024, the cumulative export volume of primary form polysiloxane was 167,700 mt, up 27.92% YoY. Among them, the largest export volume in April was to South Korea, at 7,400 mt, down 23.71% MoM.

In terms of export trade partners, South Korea remained the top trade partner in April, although the export volume decreased significantly. The top 5 destinations of China’s exports in April were South Korea, India, the US, Turkey, and Vietnam, accounting for 43.98% of the total export volume. Compared to March, the top five countries remained unchanged, but the trade volume decreased by 3,900 mt.

Compared to March data, trade volume with South Korea decreased by 23.71% MoM to 7,400 mt, accounting for 16.18% of the total export volume; exports to India decreased by 3.35% MoM to 4,600 mt, accounting for 10.10% of the total export volume; exports to the US were 3,000 mt, accounting for 6.59% of the total export volume, down 14.29% MoM; exports to Turkey were 2,800 mt, accounting for 6.15% of the total export volume, down 9.68% MoM. Exports to Vietnam were 2,300 mt, accounting for 5.00% of the total export volume, ranking fifth in export trade volume.
