According to SMM survey, the operating rates of copper plate/sheet and strip enterprises averaged 71.04% in April, down 2.03 percentage points month-on-month and 6.46 percentage points year-on-year.

According to SMM survey, the operating rates of copper plate/sheet and strip enterprises averaged 71.04% in April, down 2.03 percentage points month-on-month and 6.46 percentage points year-on-year. The average operating rates of large, medium-sized and small enterprises were 72.55%, 70.97%, and 65.29% respectively. (Notes: SMM surveyed 36 producers with a total production capacity of 2.66 million mt/year). The unexpected surge in copper prices in April led to a rapid deterioration in orders for copper plate/sheet and strip. Downstream customers did not purchase unless necessary, resulting in varying degrees of order reduction.

ACG Metals는 9월 1일 튀르키예 소재 Gediktepe 광산에서 8월 31일 첫 구리 정광을 생산했다고 발표하며 증산 단계에 돌입했다고 밝혔다. 회사는 처리량을 점진적으로 늘리고 플랜트 성능을 최적화하여 2026년 말까지 완전 가동을 목표로 하고 있다.
