【Volvo teams up with CATL】Recently, Volvo Cars and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) signed a strategic cooperation memorandum, aiming to deepen their cooperation in sustainable development. Li Hai, Vice President of Supply Chain in Volvo Cars Asia Pacific Region, and Tan Libin, Co-President of Market System in CATL, attended the signing ceremony. Zeng Lingling, Senior Director of Supply Chain in Volvo Cars Asia Pacific Region, and Shen Feng, Executive Vice President of Overseas Passenger Vehicle in CATL, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. According to the content of the agreement, Volvo Cars will recycle retired and waste batteries, handing them over to downstream suppliers certified by Volvo Cars for recycling and extracting metals such as nickel, cobalt, and lithium from them. CATL will then use these recycled materials to produce new batteries, which will be used in the production of Volvo Cars' new vehicles.
