National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments conduct research and deployment on controlling crude steel production in 2024. In order to implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, and continuously consolidate and improve the results of the supply-side structural reform, in 2024, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the National Bureau of Statistics, together with relevant parties, will continue to carry out national control of crude steel production. The focus will be on energy conservation and carbon reduction, distinguishing between different situations, balancing preservation and pressure, providing classified guidance, supporting the good and eliminating the bad, promoting the optimization of the steel industry structure adjustment, and facilitating the high-quality development of the steel industry. In order to coordinate the control of production capacity and output, relevant departments will jointly conduct a nationwide investigation of the equipment basic information of steel smelting enterprises.
