【Steel PMI in March shows: Slow recovery of market demand, weak operation of the steel industry】Looking at the PMI data for the steel industry released by the China Steel Logistics Professional Committee, the PMI for March 2024 was 44.2%, a decrease of 1.8 percentage points compared to the previous month, indicating that the steel industry continues to operate weakly. Sub-index changes show that after the end of the Spring Festival holiday, market demand in the steel industry is recovering slowly, production is declining, leading to a reduction in raw material procurement, overall decrease in raw material prices, and continuous decline in steel prices. It is expected that in April, steel market demand will recover weakly, steel plant production may see some recovery, and raw material and steel prices will fluctuate weakly.
