On March 15th, State Grid Corporation of China commenced the construction of the Shaanbei-Anhui ±800 kV Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) Transmission Project and the Yuexi Pumped Storage Power Station (referred to as the "Shaanbei-Anhui UHV Project" and "Yuexi Pumped Storage Station" respectively). It is reported that the Shaanbei-Anhui UHV Project has a rated voltage of ±800 kV, a rated capacity of 8 million kilowatts, and a dynamic investment of 20.5 billion yuan. The project starts at the Baotashan Converter Station in Yan'an, Shaanxi Province and ends at the Hezhou Converter Station in Hefei, Anhui Province, passing through the provinces of Shaanxi, Henan, and Anhui, with a total length of 1069 kilometers for the DC line. At the sending end, it will collect the photovoltaic, wind power, and energy-saving thermal power from Shaanxi through the 750 kV AC system, and at the receiving end, it will be connected to the load center in Anhui. The Yuexi Pumped Storage Station is located in Huangwei Town, Yuexi County, Anhui Province, with 4 sets of 300,000-kilowatt reversible units installed to connect to the East China Power Grid through two 500 kV lines, with a dynamic investment of 7.5 billion yuan.
