Silicon wafer price hikes met strong pushback from solar cell makers

The mainstream transaction prices of monocrystalline silicon wafer 182mm and 210mm were 2-2.05 yuan/piece and 2.8-3yuan/piece respectively this week.

Price hikes by silicon wafer makers failed due to strong pushback from solar cell makers, who currently hold large amounts of silicon wafer stocks on hand and thus have a bigger say in pricing. Due to low stocks, silicon wafer makers maintained high production schedules in February, which is estimated at close to 60GW.
