【SMM Hotspot: Review and Outlook of Steel Export Situation by Region – Steel exports are expected to drop by 11.37% year-on-year in 2024!】The quantity of steel exports from China to Europe and the United States has gradually decreased, while the export volume to emerging markets has increased significantly. The "Belt and Road" initiative has greatly contributed to China's steel exports, and regions such as West Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Europe, and Central Asia have seen a steady increase in steel demand due to their relatively strong economic development and high population density. In 2023, the growth rates of steel exports to these four regions reached 63.10%, 35.22%, 163.22%, and 98.52% respectively. In terms of quantity, the largest steel export destination from China is Southeast Asia, with an export volume of 26.8998 million tons from January to December 2023, followed by West Asia, with an export volume of 15.8717 million tons during the same period...
