Mercedes-Benz and BMW's joint venture in China approved by the European Commission
On January 24th, local time, the European Commission announced that, in accordance with EU merger regulations, it has approved the establishment of a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz (China) Investment Co., Ltd and Huachen BMW. The transaction primarily involves the market for public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in China. The Commission's conclusion is that, given the limited impact on the European Economic Area, the transaction will not raise competition concerns.
