President of China Iron and Steel Industry Association and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Angang Group, Tan Chengxu, stated that in 2023, the consumption structure of steel in China will undergo changes, with new demands for green and low-carbon driving new energy steel and other steel products, as well as improved demand for traditional steel products such as automobiles, shipbuilding, and household appliances. In 2024, the steel industry in China must strengthen industry operation monitoring and analysis, as well as market supply and demand trend forecasts, and enhance early warning for potential issues. This will guide enterprises in rational production scheduling and variety structure adjustment, in order to avoid homogeneity and even high-end product homogeneity competition.
