Five Ministries: Encouraging Pilot Cities for the Application of 'Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration' to Equip New Sales of Mass-produced Vehicles with L2 Level and Above Autonomous Driving Functions with C-V2X On-board Terminals

On January 17, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and four other ministries issued the "Notice on the Pilot Work of Intelligent Connected Vehicles' Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration Application". It proposed to increase the installation rate of on-board terminals. Through categorized measures, the on-board network rate will be gradually increased, with 100% installation of C-V2X on-board terminals and vehicle digital identity certificate carriers for pilot vehicles; Encouraging the retrofit of C-V2X on-board terminals for existing vehicles in the public domain such as city buses, government vehicles, and taxis, with a new vehicle on-board terminal installation rate reaching 50%; Encouraging new sales of mass-produced vehicles with L2 level and above autonomous driving functions in pilot cities to equip with C-V2X on-board terminals; Supporting the interconnection of on-board terminals with city-level platforms.
