Looking at the import profit of SMM, multiple varieties of imported ores are showing an exacerbating state of loss. From a fundamental perspective, according to SMM statistics, the impact of molten iron brought about by blast furnace maintenance this week (January 13th to January 19th) was 2.004 million tons, a decrease of 104,500 tons compared to the maintenance impact from last week. The impact of molten iron brought about by blast furnace maintenance next week (January 20th to January 26th) will be 1.9282 million tons, a decrease of 75,800 tons compared to this week. With the resumption of production after some blast furnace maintenance and a reduction in the number of newly maintained blast furnaces, molten iron is beginning to rebound. With recent significant declines in ore prices, steel mills may accelerate their restocking pace, and iron ore prices may have a slight rebound. It is expected that iron ore profits will make a small recovery.
