U.S. Customs: Redesigned Apple Watch Not Subject to Import Ban

Apple Inc. is planning to remove the blood oxygen feature from its latest smartwatch, the 9 Series and Ultra 2, in order to circumvent the U.S. ban on the device. Medical technology company Masimo disclosed this plan on January 15th. The company stated that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection approved the move on January 12th. The agency "determined that Apple's redesigned Apple Watch does not fall within the scope of the import ban imposed by the U.S. International Trade Commission," indicating that this adjustment will allow Apple's smartwatch to continue to be sold in the market.
