Drastic cuts in production plans and cost support could potentially stabilise silicon wafer prices

Mainstream transaction prices of monocrystalline silicon wafer 182mm and 210mm fell to 1.8-2 yuan/piece and 2.8-3 yuan/piece this week. Silicon wafer price kept creeping down this week. With sustained inventory uptick during the New Year's Day holiday, traded price of silicon wafer continued to decline, with 182mm at 1.9 yuan/piece (Zhonghuan still insisted on 2 yuan/piece) and N-type silicon wafers still at 2.2 yuan/piece. A large drop in scheduled production to 56GW and cost support will probably keep silicon wafer price stable.
