Singaporean energy developer plans to deploy 500MW/2GWh battery energy storage system in Japan
According to foreign media reports, Singapore-based renewable energy developer Gurin Energy has proposed to deploy a 500MW/2000MWh (4-hour duration) battery energy storage system on the largest island of Japan, Honshu. Although deployment is not expected until 2026, the scale of this system is equivalent to the total cumulative deployment of battery energy storage systems in Japan to date.
