British multinational oil and gas company BP plc has agreed to acquire the remaining 50.03% stake in its solar development joint venture, Lightsource bp, for £254 million ($322 million), with the purchase expected to be completed by mid-2024. BP plc had previously acquired 43% of Lightsource bp in December 2017 and announced its decision to increase its stake to 50% in December 2019. Upon completion of this acquisition, it will have full control over Lightsource bp. BP plc stated that its goal is to continue achieving double-digit equity returns in its solar business."
