Blackstone Minerals’ subsidiary, Cobalt One Energy, has signed an agreement to acquire the Bucko Lake nickel mine in Manitoba, Canada from CaNickel Mining for approximately 80 million Canadian dollars (59.1 million US dollars).
The Bucko Lake mine is located 2 kilometers outside the town of Wabowden in Manitoba and is a former producing high-grade sulphide nickel mine.
The mine started production in 2009 and operated until 2012.
Under the agreement, Cobalt One has the exclusive right and option to purchase the Bucko Lake mine project through staged payments within one year.
