On November 24, China Nonferrous Metal Industry Co., Ltd. announced that on July 27, its controlling subsidiary Dali Mining received a notice from the legal advisor of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry, stating that villagers near the Dali lead and zinc mine had filed an administrative lawsuit against the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, requesting the withdrawal or cancellation of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) modification permit issued for the Dali lead and zinc mine project. The initial trial ruling supported the plaintiff's lawsuit request. In August, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry filed an appeal application, which was accepted.
On November 22, the second trial judgment ruled to revoke the initial trial ruling and dismiss all the plaintiff's lawsuit requests. According to the second trial judgment, the environmental impact assessment modification permit for the Dali lead and zinc mine project is legally valid, and the project is currently in the construction phase, without having formed production capacity, thus not impacting the company's operating performance.
