"The main contract of lithium carbonate futures fell to the limit in early trading, reaching 116,650 yuan/ton, a decrease of 6.98%, with a total drop of over 50% since its listing. As of the midday close, it fell 6.86% to 116,800 yuan/ton.

Previously, the Guangzhou Futures Exchange issued a notice: from November 28, 2023, non-futures company members or clients are not allowed to open positions on any lithium carbonate futures contract exceeding 10,000 contracts in a single day. The single-day open position refers to the sum of the buy open position and sell open position of non-futures company members or clients on a single contract on the same day. Hedging transactions and market-making transactions are not subject to the above standard limits. Accounts with actual control relationships are managed as a single account."
