UK mining company Cadence Minerals has requested input from Mexico regarding the Sonora Lithium project, as the Mexican government has previously suspended certain incentives for the project. Cadence holds a 30% stake in Mexilit and Minera Megalit through REM Mexico Ltd. The company has made this request under the Mexico-UK Bilateral Investment Treaty. Cadence claims that if negotiations do not result in what they deem as 'favorable terms', they will pursue international arbitration. The company hopes to resolve the issue through negotiations."
